Do the pits and holes fill in with dirt over time?+
Filled travertine is sealed with epoxy resin that doesn't trap dirt. Unfilled travertine does collect dust in the pits and needs occasional vacuum-extraction.
Can travertine go in a shower?+
Yes, with a Schluter waterproof membrane and an annual reseal. We don't recommend it as a primary shower floor where standing water sits for hours daily.
Won't Travertine feel cheap or look fake up close?+
Modern manufacturing has closed almost all of that gap. Premium SKUs in this tier use real-wood scans, multi-pass texture, and beveled edges - at conversational distance, most homeowners can't tell. Ask for our top three samples in this category and compare them on your own floor before deciding.
