Concrete prep to CSP 2–3 per adhesive manufacturer spec.

Pressure-sensitive, hard-set, or full-spread depending on product and traffic class.

Roll and protect
100-lb roller after install; install Ram Board immediately for trade protection.

Warranty cards, attic stock log, maintenance schedule delivered within 5 days of substantial completion.

Adhesive bleed at seams
Too much adhesive or wrong open time. Clean immediately with manufacturer-approved solvent; re-roll.
Carpet tile curling at corners
Adhesive transfer failure. Lift tile, refresh adhesive, weight 24 hours.
Edge ravel on broadloom
Field seams not heat-welded. Schedule reseam during off-hours.
Slipperiness after recoat
Wrong finish for the substrate or insufficient cure. Burnish and reapply a slip-resistant finish.
Hot-mopped LVT showing tracking
Skip-coat finish too thin. Burnish and add an additional finish coat.
Moisture-related blistering on concrete
Substrate moisture exceeded adhesive limit. Remove affected area, install MVB system, reinstall.

Commercial flooring is judged by lifecycle cost, not first cost. A walk-off mat program and on-schedule recoats stretch life 2× - skipping them costs more than the floor.

- Carpet tile for offices and high-replacement zones (replace one tile, not a room). Broadloom for hospitality and design-driven spaces where seam visibility matters.
- 20-mil wear layer minimum for heavy commercial; 28-mil for healthcare and education with chair rolls. Anything under 20-mil belongs in residential.
- Concrete must hit 75% RH or lower (per ASTM F2170) before flooring goes down. Plan for 30–60 days of dry time on new slabs, longer in winter pours.
- Yes - minimum 2% of installed area, kept on-site in original packaging. Dye-lot matching becomes impossible 12 months after install.
- Yes for sectional refurb (offices, conference rooms). Public-facing retail or healthcare almost always requires after-hours work with low-odor adhesives.
