A floor is only as flat as what's under it.
Manufacturers spec subfloors to within 3/16" over 10 ft for click-lock and hardwood. Anything more and you'll hear it, feel it, and likely void the warranty. We measure with a 10-ft straightedge before we ever quote a level.

We won't quote subfloor work you don't need. If your subfloor passes inspection, we say so - and skip the line item.

- Soft spots underfoot, hollow sounds, visible water staining, or noticeable bounce when you walk are the most common signs. We inspect during the free pre-install measure and only quote repair if it's needed.
- Most patches and leveling happen the morning of install. Larger structural repairs may add a half-day. We'll flag it before the install date so there are no surprises.
- Yes. We test moisture content on every concrete slab and flag suspected mold for a licensed remediator before any new floor goes down. We never install over a wet or active mold issue.
- Sometimes - luxury vinyl tolerates more variance than hardwood. But hiding an uneven subfloor voids most manufacturer warranties. Level once, enjoy floors for decades.
