LVP is the lowest-effort floor in the catalog - easier than hardwood (no refinishing), tile (no grout sealing), or carpet (no shampooing). The trade-off: when the wear layer fails, you replace, you don't refinish.
Common luxury vinyl plank problems - and the fix.
Streaks after mopping
Mop is too wet or cleaner left residue. Wring nearly dry and switch to a pH-neutral LVP-specific cleaner.
Yellow discoloration under rugs
Rubber or latex backing reacting with the wear layer. Swap to a felt or natural-fiber rug pad - discoloration may be permanent.
Planks separating at seams
Expansion gap was undersized or HVAC swings exceeded spec. Reinstall affected row with proper spacers.
Soft spots underfoot
Subfloor wasn't flat - voids under the click-lock. Lift the planks, level the subfloor, relay.
Scratches from furniture
Felt pads on every leg; lift, never drag. Light scratches can be buffed with a melamine sponge.
